Jim’s Word – OCTOBER 2013

As I write this, we are entering one of the most exciting parts of the year. In just over three weeks we will be competing at the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge with no less than three cars. This is by far the most serious entry we have had and the team are pulling all stops to ensure the cars perform well.

You might have seen our cars featured on the World Time Attack website, and we have been keeping you updated on our website and Facebook and forums with the progress of all the builds. The eyes of the world will be on Sydney Motorsport Park in October and we are proud to say Tunehouse will be well represented!

On another note, the spring has arrived and with it the inevitable countdown to summer. With the arrival of warmer, drier weather it’s easy to forget about your car’s maintenance. Spring is the best time to get your car ready for the upcoming Summer heat.

The last thing you need is for your car to break down when you are on your way to work, an important meeting or picking your kids up from school. Time and time again we see vehicles not up to scratch with their cooling system maintenance making it through the colder months only to break down come the warmer end of the year.

At Tunehouse, we believe that prevention is the best cure. We always urge our customers to bring their car in for a service before they think it’s due rather than after. Who knows, it may save you from being stranded on the side of a road.

While on the subject of servicing, this month we look in detail at the importance of brake maintenance. Brakes are one of the most important yet often overlooked parts of your car. They need to be checked regularly and replaced when needed.

Every Tunehouse service includes a braking system check. We will inspect the pads, rotors, braking fluid and lines for leaks or faults. We will then give you a simple, honest appraisal so you can drive away with a peace of mind. That’s all part of the Tunehouse difference!

Stay Safe and see you on the road.
