Jim’s Word – May 2015: Race Season Preparation

It’s been a hectic month here at Tunehouse as race season has well and truly kicked into full swing.

With two events coming within the next month, it’s all hands on deck to prep and prime our Toyota 86 to compete at its full potential.

The first event we knocked off our list was Motor Magazine’s Hot Tuner Challenge. We have been proud participants in this event for several years now and enjoy the friendly competition.

Even though we couldn’t run our 86, one of our good customers kindly lent us his boosted 86 to compete.

Despite entering the car last minute (it was still getting an alignment at bump in time) we managed to net some amazing results which took the field by surprise. Look out for the results in the coming issues of Motor Magazine.

The next event after this will be NSW Time Attack, where things will get a little more serious. The 86 will be back in full race mode in the hopes of toppling our PB at Wakefield Park and cement our status as Australia’s Fastest 86. With our trusted pilot John Boston at the wheel we’re quietly confident on netting results. That’s all from me for now, the whole Tunehouse team thanks you for your support and wish us luck out on the track!
